About Me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Felix Rodriguez and I am self-taught programmer.

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. Planned Program: Cultural Rhetoric Studies in 2015. Before I began to program I was a reliable and detail-oriented manager with 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment. My responsibilities included but were not limited to: developing and maintaining databases, customer service, and inventory flow management.

I learned how to build this website by working my way through The Odin Project in 2022. The Odin Project taught me the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, and Javascript as well as GIT and working in CLI.

I recently completed a Data Analytics Course on Codecademy. This course taught me the fundamentals of Python 3, SQL, and how to work with advanced libraries such as Pandas, DataFrame, and Matplotlib. I also learned Data Visualiztion techniques and Exploratory Data Analysis. I am now also familiar with BI tools such as Tableau and Excel for Data Analysis.

The next step on my self taught path is to become CompTIA A+ certified with the goal of eventually becoming Network+ certified

In my free time I am a musician, writer, avid reader, and less than elite runner.

Portfolio

For this project I built a working calculator using JavaScript and HTML Query Selectors. Click the image above to see a live app.

I learned to work with API requests to build a functional Weather App. Click the image above to see a live app.

The image shows an early prototype of a simple text generator app that creates 'bad horoscopes'. I adapted it to work in the browser.
